A research-led practice in semantic AI

OntoLedgy is the public home of an applied research practice in ontology-grounded semantic AI — building systems that are transparent, traceable, and trustworthy, with AI working alongside human experts rather than instead of them.

Four translucent cubes arranged left-to-right, each containing a denser internal lattice than the last, joined by flowing strands that depict the same entity persisting and changing across successive temporal extents.

Research lineage

35+ years of applied ontology research and industrial development

The work draws on the BORO™ Foundational Ontology and the bCLEARer™ framework, developed by BORO Solutions over three decades of academic research, industry deployment, and implementation. A substantial portion of the pipeline, identity, and provenance codebase is built directly on top of BORO’s open-source libraries, extended with domain-specific pipelines. We then add AI harnesses and integrations with operational systems and interop services.

The core platform is based on:

  • BORO Foundational Ontology — rigorous, domain-independent semantic grounding.
  • bCLEARer framework — traceable, identity-driven data pipelines, layered on BORO’s libraries.
  • Dialogic AI harness — humans, LLMs, and software collaborating as peers.

The approach

Shared architecture, domain-specific work

The same building blocks are reused across finance and AML, engineering, healthcare, and media rights — adapted to each domain rather than rebuilt from scratch.

  • Open-source core, built on BORO’s libraries, with applied domain work on top.
  • MCP-native tool integration for interoperability with industry software.
  • Every AI output traceable to source evidence through the digital thread.
